Adam Peach is a character appearing in the episode The Silent Land of the ITV crime drama Midsomer Murders.
A seemingly mild man, Adam spent his days working at his florist company while caring for his son and daughter. However there is a dark side to the tale. His wife had died a few years before the events of the episode, and had been laid to rest in a run down graveyard off the side of a motorway. Unsatisfied with this, Adam demanded to the local council twice, that she should rest in peace, in a better cemetery, the March Magna church one to be precise because she was born in the village and deserved more. However each time, he was turned down, whether it was due to alleged lack of space or minimal funds. Fed up and angry, he decided to take matters into his own hands.
He found out that Gerald Ebbs, a lonely Parish clerk had gone against his plea both times, so one night he went to the graveyard and crept up on Gerald who was visiting Caroline Maria Robert's grave. He pushed him face down in the dirt of the grave, and bludgeoned him in the head with a piece of stone edging. However, they weren't the only two in the cemetery that night, so he couldn't be sure if Jeff Bowmaker, the local Ghost Walk Leader had seen anything. He made up his mind to kill him just in case.
On the night of Jeff's performance at the Saint Fidelis hospital, Adam waited near the top of the staircase for Jeff to come up. Unfortunately, Adam's son Liam heard him up there, came upstairs, and tried to prevent his father from ramming Jeff with a pole. Alas, Liam didn't succeed and when Jeff reached the top, Adam ran at him with pole which sent him over the banister, to the bottom of the stairs, much to the audience's horror.
That night, Barnaby and Jones came for Peach, where he confessed all.
