Alan King is a character appearing in the episode King's Crystal of the ITV crime drama Midsomer Murders.
Alan King was co-owner of King's Crystal, a glassware factory in Midsomer Magna and was killed in a car crash. After his death, his widow Hilary married his brother Charles. During the course of the investigation, it was decided to exhume Alan's body to determine if there were any additional factors in his death. Ground glass was found in his stomach, and although the glass itself would not have killed him, it may have caused internal bleeding or other discomfort which caused him to lose control of the car he was driving, leading to the fatal accident.
