Barry Jackson (29th March 1938 - 5th December 2013) was an english actor who portrayed Dr. George Bullard in the popular ITV crime drama Midsomer Murders. He passed away on 5th December 2013 at the age of 75 and is survived by his wife, Denise, and by four daughters and two sons.
He first appeared in the pilot episode for the show in 1997 and remained a member of the cast until his retirement in 2011.
His career began in the 1960s with appearances in shows such as A For Andromeda, The Spread Of The Eagle and Dr. Who â he returned to the show in 1979 to play the character Drax in two episodes. At one point, Mr. Jackson even worked as a stunt man and fight director but this took up only a short period in what was a long and successful acting career. For more than 40 years he made appearances in some of the most popular shows in British television, including Hard Cases, All Creatures Great and Small, Minder, Bernardâs Watch, The Bill and Doctors.
His film credits included Ryanâs Daughter (1970), Barry Lyndon (1975), Aces High (1976) and Mr. Love (1985).
