Cherie Lunghi was born on 4 April 1952 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England, UK. Her father, Alessandro Lunghi, was Italian. She is an actress, known for Excalibur (1981), Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994) and The Mission (1986). Lunghi was briefly married to South African student Ralph Lawson after the pair met while studying at London's Central School of Speech and Drama. Lawson moved back to South Africa two years later to take a new job. Cherie has a daughter, Nathalie Lunghi (b. 1986), with the director Roland Joffe.
