Claire English is a character appearing in the episode Ghosts of Christmas Past of the ITV crime drama Midsomer Murders.
She became the girlfriend of Ferdy Villiers after her brother, Dominic Jones, sets her up as Ferdy's assistant in his magician profession.
On November 30th, 1995, she was talking to Lydia Villiers about a rare statuette that she offered to get valued as she was going to London on December 6th. The secrecy of the deal had backfired once Lydia had let slip of this plan during an argument with Ferdy's sister Jennifer who later forced Lydia to report the statuette to the police as stolen. This led to her being arrested in London for theft.
Ferdy had committed suicide not long after and she later committed suicide through carbon monoxide poisoning in her car.
