DC Briars is a Detective Constable who works at Causton CID.
He appears in Death and Dust, where he is asked by DCI Barnaby to guard Dr. James Kirkwood, at DS Jones's suggestion. He and DS Ben Jones appear to be quite good friends. Later the two of them stopped Bryn Williams from killing Dr. James Kirkwood.
