Damian Bennet is a character appearing in the episode The Debt of Lies of the ITV crime drama Midsomer Murders. Damian was the husband of Elaine Bennet, stepfather to Lionel Bennet, father to Matty Bennet. He is an alcoholic. Years ago, he used to be a police officer and was in trouble for malfeasance. He was one of the officer's investigating the Goldman-Forbes job 30 years ago. He was accused of stealing some of the money that was stolen by a gang.
Damian tells Lionel he may investigate Elaine's death himself. Damian has a rental lockup with an incident room complete with photos of the Goldman-Forbes gang, sticky notes and string.
Damian is killed by his stepson, Lionel and pinned to the wall in his incident room with string across him. Damian knew about Elaine's diagnosis of Groedinger's disease which Lionel could inherit and pass on to his daughter.
