Trivia:

  • Dorney Court is used in this episode. It is also featured in Strangler's Wood as the Fox and Goose, Bantling Boy as Bantling Hall, Secrets and Spies as Allenby House, and in Not in My Back Yard as Pelfe Hall.
  • The giant robot that can be seen in continuity shots of the outdoor comic festival bears a strong resemblance to the ABC Warriors from the 1995 Judge Dredd movie. It was made years ago by Yorkshire Props as a freelance project and when the producers of Midsomer Murders asked if they could use it, the owner said yes. Yorkshire Props has since built another ABC Warriors replica whose design stays much truer to the original comic book.
  • The costume that Jamie wears while trying to get into the comic festival might be a reference to either Hawkman, Birdman, or Condorman.

The Trials and Tribulations of Jamie Winter: When Barnaby wants him to help out in the beginning, Jamie is unwilling because he has the day off. Plus he is dressed up in costume for the comic festival.
