His he married his first wife Vivienne and had Roland. She eventually had an illness and had made Henry promise her to "see her off before she lost her dignity." He had brought sleeping pills but couldn't kill her. Eventually, he fell asleep and she woke up and taken a number of pills ultimately killing her.
As Vivienne began to fade away, he began to see Peggy Aynscombe during off-hours and eventually decided they would get married soon after Vivienne's death. Roland being a Rider and Peggy's daughter Fiona being a Skimmington had disapproved once they announced publicly, however, Lorna (who was also a Skimmington) was glad to see that two people she cared about very much decide to marry.
Soon after Lorna was found to be the murderer, she had eventually confessed and explained the circumstances of his birth and how he ended up as Henry Marwood. After the confession, they had reconciled as Mother and Son.
