Hugh Dalgleish is a character appearing in the episode The Sword of Guillaume of the ITV crime drama Midsomer Murders.
A thoroughly despicable character, he used people without concious. He seduced women and then announced the fact, bought men, and then made clear to all that he owned them. It was his cold blooded plan to, in effect, breed Lady Matilda's wheel-chair bound son, Richard, to a local hotelier, recently seperated, in order to produce an heir, which got him killed; decapitated in a funhouse with the titular sword. Unfortunately, it also doomed the innocent hotelier, Jenny Russell.
