Jane Bennett is a character appearing in the episode Garden of Death of the ITV crime drama Midsomer Murders.

Jane was devoted to her father and when she realised that her mother Cynthia was being dishonest to Gerald, Jane's father, she had had enough. She spied on her mother enjoying herself with two other men at the Deverell Arms Hotel. Cynthia, Rodney Widger and Charles King had a great time smirking and sniggering behind Gerald's back which sent Jane to her limit.

She waited for Cynthia to start heading back from Causton, drunk, and strangled her with a pair of tights. She then wheeled her in a wheelbarrow to the Memorial Garden, and buried her there, as she liked the idea of people walking all over her, just as she had walked all over Gerald. Finally, she took Cynthia's clothes from her cupboard and left them at the dump, to make it seem as if Cynthia had left.

Unable to think about her father's inevitable broken heart that would arise after the Memorial Garden had been dug up, and he had found out what Cynthia had really been like, Jane decided to smother him with the duvet of his bed.
