Owen August - Followed during his hiking, had his walking stick taken from him and was beaten to death with it.
REVENGE: Dave was a lothario, sleeping with village women.

REVENGE: Debbie refused his offer of being a substitute for his deceased mother.

5.1 Tainted Fruit Georgina Canning Melissa Townsend - Injected with a lethal dose of Pentobarbitone directly into her liver while sunbathing.
Adam Keyne - Lured to a barn to collect some blackmail money that were left on the barn ceiling floor. As he bent down to claim them, he fell to his death through the ceiling onto a plow, stabbing himself, after the boards had been partially sawn through prior. The leaked blood resulted in the body being attacked by flies.
Raif Canning - Injected with a lethal dose of Pentobarbitone while collecting his tennis balls from the ground.
BLACKMAIL: Melissa and Adam were blackmailing Georgina for trying to implicate Sally for drunk-driving

CONCEALMENT: Raif noticed the saw missing and deduced that his wife had murdered Adam.

5.3 A Worm in the Bud Victoria Bartlett Susan Bartlett - Drugged with valerian after the quantity in her pills and potions was increased and left in Setwale Woods. Then a suicide note was sent from her computer and later that night she was drowned in the nearby lake.
James Harrington - Drugged by consuming whiskey spiked with valerian after getting home drunk. He was then taken and drowned in a nearby slough.
HATE/GAIN: Victoria killed Susan to clear the way for her son to marry someone else and produce a heir.

BLACKMAIL: James was blackmailing her.

5.3 A Worm in the Bud Hannah Harrington Victoria Bartlett - Found in her garden and forced at gunpoint to drive to Setwale Woods, where she was subsequently shot in the chest with a shotgun. REVENGE: Victoria killed Hannah's son.
5.4 Ring Out Your Dead Bellringers Reverend Jonathan Ebbrell - Historical murder in 1860. Chased and hit on the head by a large church bell that was ringed by bellringers and thrown into a well. HATE
5.4 Ring Out Your Dead Maisie Gooch Greg Tutt - Lured to the bell tower with a supposed letter from Emma Tysoe and shot in the heart with a pistol. He then had a note put in his hand which said "DING DONG BELL".
Emma Tysoe - Shot in the heart with a pistol right after her wedding through a church window. Inside the church was left a note which said "VICAR'S IN THE WELL".
Marcus Steadman - While having an asthma attack his inhaler was thrown into a river and as he was reaching for it, he was pushed inside facedown where he drowned. Earlier that day he received a note which said "WHO PUT HIM IN".
REVENGE: Maisie was a descendant of Jonathan Ebbrell. Blamed the bell-ringers of Midsomer Wellow for her family's history of bad luck and to spare her nephew's child the same fate.
5.5 Murder on St. Malley's Day Ludlow Archie Bellingham - Struck on the head twice with a crowbar, then taken and thrown in the nearby lake.
Daniel Talbot - While taking part in the St. Malley's Day Race, was stabbed in the abdomen with a knife during a struggle, but managed to escape only to fall dead at the finish line.
Dudley Carew - Burgled his home for documents, then caught and struck on the head twice presumably with a flashlight, before he was force-fed a meat pudding and moved to a cricket field, where he was run over by a steam roller which was left on top of him.
CONCEALMENT: Ludlow carried out the "tidying up" as instructed by the Headmaster to protect the school.
  • Bellingham was killed because he and Anthony Talbot were keeping treasures for themselves.
  • Daniel was killed because he tried to leave the school.
  • Dudley Carew was killed because he knew too much.
  • Anthony Talbot was almost killed because he had been stealing the stolen treasures to keep for himself.
5.5 Murder on St. Malley's Day Jonathan Eckersley-Hyde (The killings happened at his orders) Archie Bellingham - Struck on the head twice with a crowbar, then taken and thrown in the nearby lake.

6.1 A Talent for Life Quentin Roka Isobel Hewitt - After killing a fish she caught by delivering a blow to its head, was killed in the same way by a blow to the head with a large wooden stake.
Dr. Duncan Goff - Killed by a blow to the back of the head with a large wooden stake after coming to the aids of Isobel.
Keith Scholey - The lock of the freezer door from his restaurant was jammed with a nail. As he walked in a phone was thrown inside, the door was locked and the light was turned off to suggest he tried to fake an attempt on his life. Cause of death was asphyxiation or exposure to the cold.
REVENGE: Isobel didn't care for him. She just used him.

CONCEALMENT: Duncan witnessed him kill Isobel

RED HERRING: Keith killed just to distract the police.

Andy Moore - Pushed off of a cliff while on a climbing holiday 3 years prior to the events of the episode.
Martin Wroath - Drugged with Tenzine by being forced to drink from a cup, arranged sitting on a chair with his feet on another chair and had a thin rope tied to his foot and to a shotgun trigger that was fixed on top of a cupboard. Then the rope was pulled, triggering the shotgun and shooting him in the chest to make it appear as suicide.
Tony Parish - Drugged with Tenzine in his wine, then after he got to the clinic was lured to the stream where he was drowned. After that his body was dragged and hanged from the obstacle course equipment with a rope.
Gordon Leesmith - Strangled while Mozart's Rondo Alla Turca was being played on a CD player and then hung on a wall with his lanyard.
HATE/JEALOUSY: The Moore children had an unnatural attachment to their mother Jane, and were jealous of any man who cared for her.
  • Their father was "too clingy".
  • Martin took too much of their mother's attention from them.
  • Tony had a crush on Jane Moore.
  • Gordon wouldn't give them any more Tenzine, which they then stole from his pharmacy. He would have told the police that they wanted it.
  • Guy attempted to strangle DCI Barnaby because Jane was too friendly toward him. They drugged his tea and tried to kill him among the clotheslines, but Troy drove up and they all ran away.
6.3 Painted in Blood Alan Pinkney Ruth Fairfax (Actually DC Angela Browning in disguise) - Stabbed in the back with a painter's chisel. GREED/GAIN: Killed to get her out of the way so they could steal money hidden at the bank.
6.4 A Tale of Two Hamlets Danny Pinchel (Along with Phil Harrison) Larry Smith - Blown up after going in a summer house as part of a promotion for the sequel to "The House of Satan".
Frank Webster - Electrocuted while riding his exercise bike after it was connected to a main charge.
GREED/GAIN: Danny and Phil killed all because they were rich and they wanted money.
6.4 A Tale of Two Hamlets Phil Harrison Larry Smith - Blown up after going in a summer house as part of a promotion for the sequel to "The House of Satan". (Assisted by Danny)
Frank Webster - Electrocuted while riding his exercise bike after it was connected to a main charge. (Assisted by Danny)
Danny Pinchel - Drowned by having his head held in a kettle of gazpacho (tomato soup).

REVENGE: Danny was killed because he was setting Phil up.

6.5 Birds of Prey Naomi Sinclair Julian Shepherd - Drowned in his bathtub, then placed in his car which was driven into a river to make it appear as suicide.
Charles Edmonton - Injected with an unknown drug and disguised his death as natural. Dr. Bullard claims it was a heart attack, but Dr. Sinclair says she had something to do with his death.
Eddie Darwin - Chased and run over by a vehicle and died later in bed from internal bleeding.
George Hamilton - While trying to save his African artifacts collection from being burned in a fire, he noticed that an African mask was coming at him with an African spear from his collection. He was then stabbed in the abdomen and fell on top of fire.
REVENGE: Julian tried to get out of the investment.

GREED: Charles killed to speed up the process of getting money. CONCEALMENT: Eddie had seen Charles' frozen body in the freezer. BLACKMAIL: George demanded more money.

7.1 The Green Man Tom Eric Edwards - Killed in 1965 by an axe blow to his head. His body was then placed in the canal among the other skeletons. HATE/PROTECTION: Eric was abusing his mother.

Milo Craven - Knocked unconscious by a blow to the head with a shovel. With his keys, was dragged and left into a room full of snakes that were set free. He was ultimately killed by snake constriction, squeezing his body and cutting off his blood flow.

REVENGE: He found out Mark was responsible for an injury to Bill when they were young Rugby players. (Bill is his love).

Guy Burrows - He stepped on a tripwire outside his bunker, which inflated a life raft in his face, launching him backwards into a tree. While he was struggling to breathe, his nose was pinched, cutting off his air.
Randall Salt - His lights were turned off, and he saw his killer, so went to his knees in acceptance. He was then killed by a a blow to the head, with a packet of frozen steak.
REVENGE: When Becky was a 2 year old baby, her mother contracted a disease while dealing with waste at a Virus Organization and thought she had caught a terrible virus that would spread and infect everyone so she threw herself in the river and drowned. She left her baby and Guy Burrows adopted her. Warren, Guy and Randall all covered the incident up.

23.3 A Grain of Truth Gabriel Arnson Michael Cignoni was killed 20 years ago after pursuing Chrissie. He was pushed off his bike and hit his head on a rock before going in the water and drowning.
Nathan Duncroft was killed by mistake. Gabriel thought he tried to poison Chrissie with Ergot. But he didn't. He was in the grain silo and grain was dumped on him and he suffocated.

Evelyn Hardy - She was wearing a dress that had eels on it lit up by electrics. She was electrocuted.
JEALOUSY: Lois voted against Olivia's production of Romeo and Juliet. So she was killed.

JEALOUSY: Evelyn told Olivia her father was financing a play and tour of Romeo and Juliet. Which were OLIVIA's idea, plans and dreams. And she took away Nigel Bellamy, who Olivia was in love with and wanted to do the play with.
