Mother Julian is a character appearing in the episode A Sacred Trust of the ITV crime drama Midsomer Murders.
As a young woman, she worked as a mission teacher in Africa. When mercenaries came to the village where she was working, they killed most of the inhabitants, but she tried to barricade the school room against them to save the children. The mercenary who confronted her gave her a wink and left them alive, though almost everyone else was killed. She joined the Order of St Mathilde in 1978.
Years later she recognized the mercenary as Matthew Hendred.
She attempted to blackmail him into donating funds to charity to atone for his past, he responded by trying to kill her and inadvertently killed another sister, Mother Thomas.
