Thomas John Ellis (born 17 November 1978) is a Welsh actor. He is well known for playing the title character, Lucifer Morningstar, in the Fox/ Netflix series, Lucifer, and as Gary Preston in Miranda. He portrayed Lee Smeeton in the eighth episode, Midsomer Rhapsody, of the eighth series of Midsomer Murders.
Ellis was married to actress Tamzin Outhwaite from 2006 to 2014, and she appeared as Samantha Adler in the Midsomer Murders episode The Lions of Causton, in 2018.
At the time Ellis was cast in Midsomer Murders, however, he was still single and living in London with flat mate, John Hopkins, who was then playing DS Scott.
