Trevor Machin is a character appearing in the episode Bantling Boy of the ITV crime drama Midsomer Murders. He is a retired gardener of the Bantling estate and one of four in a syndicate surrounding a scandal involving Colonel Hartley and Joanna Craxton resulting in the birth of Peter Craxton. He pretends to be disabled in a wheelchair as a way to collect pension.
When Colonel Hartley had passed, he left Trevor, Joanna, Bruce Hartley, and John Osgood a yearling horse by the name of Bantling Boy as reward for their loyalty and silence regarding the scandal.
After Bantling Boy's first race was won, an offer for £500,000 from Sam Tate to buy the horse off the syndicate was made. While Trevor was in favor, Bruce and later John had refused the sale. Following their deaths, Trevor himself went to Sam in order to work out a deal, however, word got out that Bantling Boy was ailing and at the Fallowfields. As a result, Sam halved his offer to £250,000.
He went to Angela Hartley in an attempt to see if she could persuade Sam Tate but she wasn't interested.
The night following, Trevor went to take out his trash, out of his wheelchair, and is struck in the head and killed by Geoffrey who was sent by Peter Craxton. A pennant was tied around his mouth afterwards.
